Afsah Anwar
I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Mexico (UNM), Albuquerque, NM. I obtained Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF), advised by Prof. David Mohaisen. I was also a postdoctoral researcher at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University (host: Prof. Alina Oprea).Â
My primary research goal is to contribute to the understanding of malicious activity on the Internet and its impact on individuals and society. I enjoy building tools that help ease efforts at the different stages of incident response life cycle. My research efforts have resulted in tools and frameworks that impact the lives of incident responders.
Research Interests:
Malware Analysis
Network Security
